OCEAN CHARTER OF 28,000CBM - 54 WIND BLADES, 12 NACELLES, 12 HUBS, 12 NOSE CONES

This was an emergency shipment for one of the major energy companies in Brazil.

The cargo was originally purchased under DDP terms, but the shipper faced problems to perform this transport, so we got a call from the importer at 10pm to arrange a vessel in position to start working the next day and “rescue” the cargo, as the import license was about to expire.

Our team covered the market overnight and at 6am next day we already had a named vessel and a stowage plan to present to our customer. We have been able to pick-up the material in three different ports in India (Tuticorin, New Mangalore, Kandla).

Another challenge was the berth congestion at destination (approx. 20 days), but our Project Manager flew into Pecem one week prior to vessel’s arrival to meet with port authorities in an attempt to optimize the port line-up. We finally managed to berth the vessel 48hs after arrival in Pecem, what was crucial to meet customer’s deadline and save a considerable amount of demurrage.
